My name is Graham J Davies and I am still trying to create a Long Distance Model Boat and Power Boat World Record, after some 27 years and I have spent many thousands of pounds that I can ill afford.
Peter Dorsett and I attempted the record with Challenger II in April 1991 and equalling the record and before blowing up both engines. This was very disappointing for all the people who helped me, including my sponsors and the TV crew that we had that day for 8 hours.
This is my main hobby and major pastime over the last 30 years approx; I have enjoyed lots of successes and also had some failures.
I am building this website to give other modellers the benefit of my experiences. If modellers use my website for a good read and can avoid some mistakes that I made and enjoy some of the success, it will be all worthwhile.
The models are the following; Virgin Atlantic Challenger I that is still in my roof drying out and I can see that I might not be using it again, Virgin Atlantic Challenger II, that was used for the attempt and had been discarded, but now we have a new hull waiting to be refitted, my first ever model boat called a Screwdriver offshore power boat, MTB488 a British Power Boat Motor Torpedo Boat that has been made and finally HMS Norfolk F230 Duke Class Frigate.
The last three will be used in World Record attempts I hope.
Virgin Atlantic Challenger II will have a Zenoah engine, the MTB488 has twin engines of the same size and HMS Norfolk works electrically on a 24 volt system.
Please be PATIENT with me as I am new to websites and as a 65 year old person it takes a bit longer to learn!
The website will take a long time to complete as it is an on going story.
PLEASE KEEP ON LOOKING AS THE WEBSITE AS IT WILL TAKE SOMETIME TO COMPLETE!
